Hi everyone

First of all, apologies we have not updated you on the Fans Forum over the last few weeks. With the football, work commitments and the lead into Christmas, it became difficult for us to arrange a date that we thought would maximise attendance.

However, we now have a date for you, it will be the 29th January, at the Holly Blue from 2pm.

We are not 100% sure about the format as yet but the purpose of the day will be to bring you up to date with where we are and what we need to do to run speedway, gauge general interest in having speedway back at Arlington, listen to any feedback and advice and just have a good chat about the sport we love.

We have to be clear, there is a long road ahead of us to make this happen. At the moment we are speaking to as many people as we can who have been involved in running speedway both at Arlington and elsewhere. We are also speaking to people that may want to be involved and we ask, that anyone that would be interested in any way but especially as a promotor, let us know so we can have a discussion.

Unfortunately, despite our best efforts it is extremely unlikely to happen and we have at this stage, thrown in the towel for 2023. 

The last hurdle really was the BSPL explaining that they would need our commitment by the end of August, to run next season. We could have asked for more time but it seems, that would have just been delaying the inevitable.

The costs of entering the Championship were simply too much to raise the amount required and the stadium owners were not keen on us running at National League level.

We are devoted fans of the club and although this is most likely over for 2023, we do not want to give up. All the time there is a track at Arlington Stadium, we will want to see speedway there and will be happy to help financially or otherwise, with anyone that wishes to take up the mantle.

We are truly sorry for any hopes that we raised and have now, dropped.

SPEEDWAY 2023

As many of you know we are working on getting the Eagles back on track for the 2023 season.

We have spent the last few months working towards this and there are numerous hurdles some of them seemingly insurmountable but we will not give up just yet.

We have spoken to the stadium owners, the speedway authorities, various promotions and others who have been involved in speedway at Arlington and other tracks.

We would like to have a fans forum in the near future but at this stage we would like to speak to anyone who could potentially sponsor and or invest in the club and those that can/will help run speedway.

If we can raise the money and get the help required we can run speedway.

Everyone associated with Eastbourne Speedway are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of long time fan, Director and Team Sponsor Les Fineing.

All at the club send out thoughts and condolences to all family and friends at this very sad time.
